Optimization of Production Technique and Nutritional Evaluation of Leaf Protein Concentrate from Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum)

Background: Leaf protein concentrate (LPC) is a cheap and feasible source of high-quality protein. Researchers found the quality LPC similar to first-class food. Tobacco protein-rich leaf but contains high amount nicotine. According studies obtained from tobacco leaves nicotine-free also useful gaining weight in malnourished rats. Methods: Fresh were blended with distilled water different ratio (1:3, 1:6,1:9 1;12). The juice was filtered coagulated at pH (acidic, basic neutral) coagulating techniques (conventional heating, Microwave Ultrasound) standardize optimum procedure for extraction. coagulant dried oven. Result: maximum quantity crude yield (62.34% 4.7 g) extracted 1:9 acidic by using citric acid followed conventional heating method.
